Well, being 'outback' in the Kimberleys, where there is either no coverage, or there is no power, it certainly has been a while since we have been able to write on the blog. So, because of this, from Kununurra to Derby I have combined everyones entries. With nearly two weeks of journal to write up and organise the photos I figured you guys wouldn't mind. As much fun as it is organising the blog it does take time, electricity and internet coverage so if one of these is missing, it just doesn't work!!! Girls - the Kimberley diamonds are so pretty. Shame they are so expensive. colleen

Finally after approx 1200 kms of rocky, dirty, corrugated, bull dusty, sandy, wet, croc infested, steep, windy road we arrived at Derby to kiss the bitumin road!!!!!! I think our bleeding kidneys will recover in time, but I feel like I am still bumping across the road. I think it's similar to sea legs and then getting your land legs back. But after all that, we saw some spectacular things. 2 weeks ago we were actually debating whether we would put the car through the gibb let alone the Kalumburu road (or more the point) would the car handle it! I'm so glad we did. colleen
When we got to Derby dad got 3 crab nets from the caravan park we were staying at. That night we caught a mud crab. The shell was 24cms. We saw the longest trough and visited the boab prison tree. Callum
We stayed at Derby for 1 night. My dad got some crab nets and we went down to the peir to catch mud crabs. We caught one big one and had it for dinner. By the way it was a male. When we were cooking it grabbed onto the side of the pot. shannon

I am glad you made it safely to Derby, what a rough trip you had. Would loved to have had some of that mud crab. Well done boys. What a great experience you both had riding in the helicopter. Well done Shannon.Love E & B Margetts
